This article is for faculty, students and staff who wish to link their Google calendar with Apple Mail on Mac OSX.
Apple Calendar’s connection to its mail and contacts apps are much less clear. They exist nonetheless, and they’re important. If Apple Calendar doesn’t let you change an event that you know you created, you might be using an email address in the calendar that isn’t on your Contacts card.

Make sure that IMAP is enabled on your Gmail account prior to attempting this procedure.
Setting up Google Calendar in Mac OSX Lion (Mountain Lion)
- Open Apple Mail.
- Go to File > Add Account…
- Enter your name, email address ([email protected]) and your password for G-Suite.
- An error will occur with Auto-Setup. Enter your email address into the User name box.
- Click Continue to manually configure your account.
- On the next window, you will have the option to manually enter the settings. Select IMAP as the Account Type.
- Enter imap.gmail.com for the incoming mail server.
- Select Continue.
- Enter smtp.gmail.com for the outgoing mail server and select use only this server. Additionally, select the use authentication option. Your incoming credentials should be populated automatically.
- Click Continue.
- Check the box for take account online.
- Click Create.
Setting up Google Calendar in Mac OSX (Maverick)
- Open Apple Mail.
- Go to Mail > Add Account.
- Select Add Other Mail Account.
- Enter your e-mail address and password.
- Click Create.
- Click Next to manually configure account.
- Select IMAP as the Account Type.
- Enter imap.gmail.com for Mail Server, and your email address and password in the appropriate locations.
- Enter smtp.gmail.com for SMTP server, along with your e-mail and password one more time.
- Click Create.

To configure your Apple iCloud email account in Microsoft Outlook for Mac, follow these steps:
- Start Outlook for Mac.
- On the Tools menu, select Accounts.
- Select the plus (+) sign in the lower-left corner, and then select Other E-mail.
- Enter your E-mail Address and Password, and then select Add Account.NoteThe new account will appear in the left navigation pane of the Accounts dialog box. The Server Information may be automatically entered. If not, follow the remaining steps to enter this information manually.
- Enter one of the following in the Incoming server box:

(forme.com

email addresses)imap.mail.me.com
(foricloud.com
email addresses)
- Select Use SSL to connect (recommended) under the Incoming server box.
- Enter one of the following in the Outgoing server box:
smtp.mail.me.com

email addresses)
- Select Use SSL to connect (recommended) under the Outgoing server box.
- Select Override default port under the Outgoing server box, and then enter 587 in the Outgoing server port text box.
After you have entered the incoming and outgoing server information, Outlook for Mac will start to receive your email messages.
Note
You can select Advanced to enter additional settings, such as leaving a copy of each message on the server.
